Yup - got one of those who "doesn't like the chickens or ducks" either.

But he has to spend time with the babies daily - they are on the larger side of our shop and whenever he enters that side - he talks to them.. notices "who" like to chat with him or "who" likes to perch.. Out back in the coop - he makes sure my sons mottled cochin "Major" gets to the garden everyday he is there. He checks out the ducks to see how much they have grown over night. Also unfortunately I lost a call duckling to a black snake and that day he went to our local feed store and bought a huge bag of sulfur to go around the coop to keep more snakes out - nobody ever mention anything about sulfur. just did it on his own

Yup - got one of those!!!!

I wish mine still disliked poultry. He was dead set against getting the 3 layers I wanted, and wouldn't help building the first coops. 5 years later I have 8 layers, he hhas 32 bantams, 6 ducks, 5 coops, 2 incubators, 3 brooders and every chicken book he can find.

HILARIOUS!!!

wish my husband were more into the birdies...he likes them fine, but doesn't know them by name or know specific breeds most of the time...but he will go look at them some and listen to me talk on and on about them...

Omg you get the golden egg of the this thread, I think you just beat all of us XD

So cute! He's wanting to keep up his macho appearance, but the softy side can't help loving the chickens. LOL

MY DH was like that at first. Begrudgingly agreed to let us get chickens and over time I think he is their biggest fan. He cried harder than my DD and I when our first chicken died.

He's building them a new coop and run. They are going to be super spoiled little girls.

omg that is a really cute story!

My husband loves chickens. We had one that would get in the car and ride to the garden (yes the garden was worth driving to LOL, big farm)

anyway, that chicken was babied to the max. he was potty trained and would come in and hang out inside then peck the door to get out. He loved flies and would hop outside the window squawking if you were swatting them in the house without him LOL
