I'm sorry.. I'm horrible!! But, I couldn't wait.. I went ahead and candled the eggs and I'm glad I did.. DS has been having a very hard time over the last few days (as I said in an earlier post, he has his own issues) but after a really rough day, I put a smile on his face and he was absolutely amazed.. Out of 18 eggs, of course 4 showed absolutely nothing because they were store bought eggs that were used as "test eggs" and were not fertilized.. But out of the remaining 14 eggs, 7 showed definite veins (with one definite embryo that we could actually see!!!), 4 showed nothing other than a yolk but I know it's still early, and 3 were too dark... I did notice that one of the ones with veins was very porous.. I know these aren't very good quality to hatch but we will see what happens.. I do have one question though.. I know several people have mentioned the yolks being scrambled.. What does this look like? A few of the eggs that have veins looked at first like they would be "scrambled" but I wouldn't expect to see veins if that were the case... If the yolk was in fact scrambled, would the chick still hatch?
