I did a bad thing (chicken math!)

Update: my 6 kept coming back out of the cave in groups of 3-4 at a time. I was worried it might be too warm (as I didn't hear any scuffles to make me think they weren't getting along) since mine haven't been under a heat lamp & have been given no heat except the cave in over a week. So I lowered the temp to low & everyone is now happily nestled inside :jumpy

Many many years ago I started out with 6 birds. Now I have so many I can't count them. I don't buy chicks I hatch them out. I started out with one styrofoam incubator. I still use the styrofoam incubators as hatchers. I bought a couple of cabinet incubators. I did sell one of the cabinets but I still use the other one. I admit I'm a hatch-a-holic.

Now thats what a formal dining room is for.

I went to the co-op today because I'm a glutton for punishment I suppose) & ended up bringing home some new friends, 2 RIR & 2 EE. They look to be about the same age as my group so I tossed them in together & so far so good, they are kore worried about the oats than one another.
My husband has banned me from the co-op & the feed store :wee

I feel your pain! My children have banned me from entering TSC without an escort during Chick Days. Now that they have them twice a year, it does present a problem. I can sometimes get around the edict by taking our setter mix with us. She thinks birds are squeaky-toys, so I can't have both her and a box of chicks in the car at the same time. What my children have not figured out yet is that I know where they hid my incubator ...
