Oh, it was hard. But I processed my first birds today, with a co-worker that's a farm girl! Such pretty birds, the hardest part really was the cutting of their heads. I didn't have to bonk them, after I held them, they sort of laid their heads back as if in a faint. If I waited too long, they'd look at me like, 'Well, just do it!' and lay their heads back again. And they were meaty! Not even 7 weeks, but I had to because the crowing was only intensifying, and lasting longer. Whew. I can't believe it's going to be quiet tonight! Sleep, at last!
BUT I have 5 little carcasses in my fridge, along with a tiny banty roo who's time came at the same time.
And Saddina, it was like dissecting after they were skinned, and I found it pretty interesting!
Now to see if I can actually get myself to eat the darn things....
