Hi guys, I haven’t been on here for a very long time, but I came back with an issue, we got some new chickens a while back, that are very timid and afraid of human contact, I have been staying with them most days to try and get them to feel comfortable with me, recently one of these chickens went missing, it should also be know that we do also have a Cockerel. This morning I noticed something at the edge of our garden, on closer inspection I descovered it was our lost chicken with around six newly hatched chicks, she has places her self between a wall and fence surrounded by a thin bust, I need to get her and the chicks inside a coop To keep them safe while growing but I don’t know how I can get that many with her there between a fence. If anyone has any suggestions I’m all ears, ps I had no clue what thread to put this under so I hope this will do

Urmm.... I have just recounted and there. Are. 11, we already have 9 how are we meant to cope with thisssssss.

Can you lure them out with food/treats? If you block the entrance once they’re out you may be able to grab them.
I have managed to safely get them all to the coop, but Im just stressing so much, I don’t know how I can handle an extra 11 chickens

Wait until night and she'll be easy to catch. All the chicks will be under her. You can sell the chicks, or some of them, now or after she's done brooding.

I was able to catch her and she’s sitting on all the chicks right now, I’m just scared that there will be loads of Cockerels as I know how hard it can be to find an owner for them. But thank you for the help

If you give the roos away for free they are easy to unload. When I have extras I don't want to raise up, I post on craigslist and they are usually picked up in a day or two. If you sell like 5 or 6 chicks now, you can get a few dollars each straight run.

Thanks for the advice, do you know what I should feed them because right now I haven’t got the propped food for them, I’ve been trying to research but it’s not saying.

I feed everyone in the coop chick starter when there's babies. You can add in crushed oyster shells or egg shells for calcium for the hens. Put it in a seperate dish.

If you have a separate coop you could make a bachelor pen with only roosters.
