Hello all. I’ve been hand feeding and giving water to my 2 month old cream leg bar pullet for 5 days. I found her sluggish standing still in her coop and brought her inside to a dog crate. As soon as I brought her inside she couldn’t walk or stand up.
I’ve been giving her vitamins and electrolytes for 4 days and nutritional yeast for 2. I’ve doing hours of research but am having trouble with so much contradicting information and hoping someone here can help.
I got her and took care of her since she was a chick so we’ve bonded.
Why is it always your favorite chickens that get sick?
She has been only laying on her side, I stand her up under my armpit when I feed her. She likes to eat.
Her poop was green and runny at first but now looks normal. She doesn’t seem to be in pain, she only squawks when I clean her bottom.
I called the feed store where I got her and she was vaccinated for Mareks.
Anyone know what is it so I can take care of her better? She can move her legs and wings but can’t sit, stand or walk. I don’t see any problems with respiratory breathing but maybe I don’t know what I’m looking for. She can straighten out her toes but prefers one curled.
How long should I keep feeding her? Aka how long do I do this until it’s best to give up?
Thank you for any help
Kelly
