Thanks everyone. It's not that I felt "slighted", and it isn't a "big deal" except that I feel it's my fault the cat is having any health issues at all. I just feel sick about it-----here was a healthy cat that I took from someone to save it from going to the shelter-----in Ft. Wayne, cats adult cats don't have much of a chance at being adopted------they have even had "Adopt a Buddy for free" days. I also took him because I was in need of a barn-cat. Anyway, I was thinking today, as I was brushing the burrs out of his coat and cleaning his wound for the third time, that maybe he would have been better off at the shelter.
I have been giving him wet food, antibiotics, and keeping the sore as clean as possible. He seems to appreciate it, and hopefully he won't take off again.
