I inherited some chickens when I bought my place. I don't know much about them, including their age or breeds. I think I know what 2 are, they are Easter eggers.. I think at least one is Auraucana.

"Red" is the little red one that I think is Auraucana, she lays small blue eggs.

"Gumbo" is the big grey one, she lays light tan/cream coloured eggs.

"Jambalaya" is the black, grey and white mottled one, she lays brown eggs.

"Bones" is the large black and grey mottled one, she lays brown bumpy eggs that often look dusted with powder. We think this is too much calcium? Hence the name "Bones".

"Oscar" is the smaller black one. She has an iridescent green/blue hue when the light hits her right. We think maybe related to Araucana? She lays huge olive green eggs.

Thanks everyone! P_20200726_190106.jpg P_20200726_190017.jpg P_20200726_185532.jpg P_20200726_185647.jpg P_20200726_185655.jpg P_20200726_185549.jpg P_20200726_193859.jpg P_20200726_185857.jpg P_20200726_190833.jpg P_20200726_190939.jpg

Red is an Easter Egger, Gumbo I'm not sure but she may be a mix, possibly influence from Maran/Plymouth Rock or Bielefelder? Jambalaya and Bones I'd guess are probably either Cuckoo Marans or Barred Plymouth Rocks (or at least a mix of one of these two!) And lastly I just gotta say Oscar looks dead on to my Marans x Easter Egger hen Raven, the shine doesn't come from any breed it's just something black birds get :)

Thank you so much! Now I will go Google all of those (except the Easter eggers) because I know pretty much nothing about chicken breeds..haha

Oh I thought ameraucana was also known as Easter egger. Hehe so much conflicting info on the internet (I read in some article on a different website that they were the same thing) *forehead slap
Ameraucanas are a breed with specific traits. They always lay blue eggs. Easter eggers are mixed breeds that have the same general look but aren’t bred to one standard. They generally lay blue or green eggs. “Americana” is the fake breed name a lot of hatcheries use for Easter eggers. Araucanas are a different breed that don’t have tails and have ear tufts instead of beards.

2- marans mix
3- barred rock mix
4- cuckoo marans
5- olive egger
