I do not vaccinate my chickens at all. I have had them since March of 2016 and never had a problem with sickness, except once in a new chick probably about three days old, who died without reason, she was with one other chick who is healthy and about five or six weeks old and with two wyondottes now. Should I be vaccinating?

WHAT? You DO NOT Vaccinate??? Neither do I!!! LOL

I think vaccinations are good, and they are probably worth it. None-the-less I do not vaccinate either. I am not even sure how to get what you should get to vaccinate them, and if a needle is involved forget about it! I know a few local breeders in the area advertise that they vaccinate, while others say they have organic chicks with no vaccinations. My research suggests that a chicken can be considered organic with vaccinations but if antibiotics are given they are no longer organic. If I had time, patience, the stomach, and more money I would really look into vaccinating my Chicks. I think and ounce of prevention is a heck of a lot better than a pound of "reaction."

Thanks, I was just wondering because i hear a lot about vaccinations and was wondering if other people had unvaccinated chickens that had no problems with sickness or disease.

BTW, at the bottom of your post, it says Where are we going, and why are we in this hand basket? is that what you call your profile tag? Just wondering!

That's what is known as a signature. ...if you go to your profile tab you'll see an option to edit your signature.
