I dont want to get rid of them!

I use straw inside the coop and fluff it every morning and evening. I only clean it out every month, but add additional straw every week as they do break it down walking around inside. I just layered my outside run with leaves from the trees in the yard. Every morning I add at least four wheelbarrel loads to create a nice leaf bed. Not only does it not smell, but I find that the chicken poo breaks down better and it will all become mulch in the spring for my garden.

This is a good idea if possible.

Avoid overcrowding as well. Place waterer on something higher or hang if possible. The drier the better. Stall-dry might work? See if your local feed store carries it.

I use pine shavings, deep litter method mixed with DE. I clean the poop boards daily using a kitty litter scoop. Takes 10 min. tops. If I see any poop on the floor of the coop I simply pick it up add a little more shavings and fluff. Food is only placed in the coop at night in case I can't get to them early and put outside during the day, but water is outside. Never have a smell. I rake their run every so often and put a small amt of pine shavings around. Only part of my run is covered. Chickens are so amazing. You have been given some very good suggestions that should help with the smell. Hope you can keep your chickens. Good luck

I use pellets for horse stalls and for the in-barn coop, too, and I love them. They're incredibly clean, stink-free, and super easy to maintain. Wet stuff clumps instantly, and - because it's so easy you can clean often - everything stays perfectly dry, even in humid weather.

For small spaces you can use a kitty litter scoop, and, in large areas, a fine tine manure fork like this:

I
let my chickens out at 6:30, and by 6:36, the coop is immaculate.
