I was on the thread to see what her hatch rate was and out of curiousity. If it's a risk she's willing to take - they're her birds, they certainly are cute.
It's wrong to mention the risks? To consider them openly? Don't post on a public forum then.
I didn't condemn her. I said I couldn't do it. I don't even care if it's legal or not, they're HER chickens. Big brother can go bite a wall.
There are other things that people do with their birds, that I will actually disagree with. Gosh, debate among individuals - it's so bad.
It's up to her, they're hers. I don't think she's evil or even wrong. I hope they do make it and they are adorable colored like that - I admit it.
I just wouldn't affect my hatch rate for novelty results. Some people will read this thread and not realize that it DOES reduce hatch and survival rates, so does vaccinating but vaccination is not for novelty's sake.
Especially new people. When every chick matters to a newbie, (who is usually counting them before they're hatched) someone should mention the additional risk.
If you like it or love it and accept the risks - that's one thing.
If no one mentions the risks - someone is going to have a poor result and not understand why.
So yes, I will post on a thread like this even if I'm not going to do it. Public Forum.
