I enjoy my chickens so much..Is that wrong?What are your favorites?

It's always great to run into other chicken enthusiasts! If I try talking to anyone that hasn't gone chicken mad about things like chicken breeds and fermented feed the eyes begin to glaze over.

I used to think my best friend was stark raving mad. Then she convinced me to build a coop and gave me my first four hens. Then I got some more. And now I have more, and a rooster, and a young rooster... and had to build a coop three times the size of my original one. My chickens have run of my entire property and my children are just as obsessed as I am. My DH still tells me we're nuts, but he was the first to notice that my white rocks are laying... so I think he's secretly obsessed as well.

I agree 100%. I started out with 10 day old chicks and 4 ducklings. Currently have 4 ducks and 22 chickens with another 2 dozen to hatch in the next 2 weeks or so. One dozen hatched yesterday/today. Hubby called from work to check on one with wry neck. When I told him that I woke up to 4 more hatched in the bator, he said "don't go giving any of these away" and then it went to "there is no way all those are going to fit in that coop" So we are going to build a big one this weekend.

Funny thing is that none of ours are even to laying age yet and we still can't get enough. lol

The greatest part for me is when all the mothers calling their chicks, and they all knows exactly her voice, and how they all ran towards their own, especially when feeding time is finish and every one moves on their own way

Today it is snowing outside.Brrrr cold it was 16 degrees this morning. My girls all looking through the coop door. None of them have ventured outside yet. I think they are waiting for the Leroy(The rooster) or Turkey burd to go outside first.

Is this their first snow? I loved watching my new babies with the first snow. They were totally clueless. It was so darn cute.

So we need to see some 'family portraits'!!!! lets see your babies!!!!
