I feel kinda guilty about this...

Just picked up the carcass when I went out to close the coop. Nothing but bones! When I looked out this afternoon, the Leghorn was bracing the carcass with one foot while she ripped into it. These ladies are tough!

I went to pick up the bones from the leftover chicken I fed this morning and couldn't find any. Little land sharks.

It is wrong on so many levels but I feed my chickens leftover chicken, too - they got some last night. I cleaned a carcass, made stock - used the stock in my chicken tortilla soup, boiled the carcass again, saved the broth (some for the dogs in their dry food and some for the chickens - I put some of their feed in a bowl and add the stock to it), put the carcass out in the pen for the chickens - which they very quickly and cleanly stripped.

recycling....carol

Try it once... They love chicken. Great for protein... Sad but true.. Mine were happily dining on a fellow Duck carcass today... The ducks are vegans, but the chickens will eat you if you stumbled and hit your head....

be careful.... verrrry careful.....

This is so funny because the other day I gave mine left over chicken and noodles. My sister looked at me like I was nuts and asked me if I expected them to eat their own kind. They had no problem!
