I feel like a freak- need support

Howdy Ya'll ~

A couple of days ago I was sitting with my pet Silkie in her diaper on my desk, and two frizzle chicks on my lap, one d'uccle chick on my shoulder, and one silkie chick perched on my hand. Mom looked at me and started laughing.

I reminded her that 10 years ago I lived in a house located at the corner of two dead ends, with too many cats and thought of myself as the crazy cat lady! But now I'm better and have chickens as pets.

She said that she wasn't sure that it was better, but she was the perch for two other chicks herself.

I am just too easily amused.

Illegal at that! I live in Columbus Ohio and have 6 of them! My neighbors and family freaked but when they realized they had yummy free eggs coming they shut up quickly!

The Code Inforcement Officer was even bribed with eggs!!! lol They really are worth their weight in gold

So I've heard the Chicken Control Person will write you a ticket if you have 12!

Ok, we may be chicken obsessed, but the definition of freak is "a person or animal that is markedly unusual or deformed". Now maybe my WCB Polish babies MIGHT be considered a freak due to their crests, but I don't regard any of us as freaks. I just wanted to clarify that...lol. Anywho, you will only find shoulders to lean on and cry if necessary. Although you will find that the BYC members are from all over the globe, we really are just a big family. I can't imagine any other place where people lift each other up like they do here. I share things on this forum I don't even tell my closest friend. They just wouldn't understand. Our chickens have become one item in our marriage that is enjoyed by both and it's just pure fun. The whole family has helped build the coop....my BIL's (all 3 of them) have helped find things needed for the coop, run or the chickens themselves. The love of chickens is no different than someone finding that they like to play on a computer, watch t.v. or go 4 wheeling. Enjoy your chickens and enjoy life. It can't get much better than that.
