Isn't it suprising that some people don't see very serious health issues of the animals(sometimes people too!) when it is so obvious to others. That was a common occurance on that Animal Planet show called Animal hoarders. Anyone even watch that show? The people do not mean to harm the animals. Sometimes it is important to provide counseling in addition to basic animal care education.
Poor animals.Perhaps you can provide them with better care on the days you work until they possibly succumb to the long term poor care they recieved. Best wishes!
