I finally finished my son's wedding quilt

It's gorgeous. And you finished it 9 days early. Projects like that at our house always get finished on the day of... like a prom dress that had the last beads sewn on it as the date waited in the family room.

Thanks. I do love my kids, and I know what you mean. I am not close to my mother. We don't dislike eachother, but we're not close. When I was born, my mother was 19 years old, and I was her 3rd child. Of course, I was not the last baby either. She took care of us, but we were more like people that just lived in the same house than mother and daughter. I have made a great effort to always try to feel close to my two kids, and the fact that my daughter calls every day and my son calls once or twice a week, lets me know I'm doing OK. Ha! Ha! I had to stop typing because DD called!! We went to Hawaii last year and met DS's girlfriend. I knew as soon as I met her that they would end of getting married. We adore her. She is a great person. When DS gets out of the service at the end of next month, they will move here. DH and I are going from an empty nest to a full house. DD will be graduating from college in December, and she will be coming home too.

NEVER!!! That is my precious angel!! I can't even sleep if that adorable little thing isn't laying up against my leg. My only regret (other than the cost) of going to Hawaii to see DS get married is that Leo can't come too. He will be staying with a good friend who happens to own his best friend, Otis.

It's gorgeous!!! you are so talented - lucky DIL !!

Send our congrats to them on their wedding......Love Weddings!!! Hope you post lots of pics..

It's beautiful! That is a wonderful gift! I'm sure that they will love it! Do you hand quilt or machine quilt? I'm currently finishing hand quilting my third baby quilt... I keep making them as gifts for friends and family. I enjoy it, though, and it appears that you do, too!

Congrats to your son and new DIL, too! I hope the wedding is wonderful!

Beautiful!!!!!!!!! One of my most treasured possessions is a quilt that my grandparents worked on together. It was the last one before grandpa died. Grandma never made another one, so I got the last one in the family. I am honored to own it!

Thanks, I couldn't tell from the picture on my dial-up... it has an accelerator and pictures don't show up at full resolution. I understand about not having time for hand quilting... it does take forever!

You sound like me....but I have two babies and they sleep next to my bed...we wouldn't all fit in the bed. They are precious souls and I treasure them.

Your quilt is really beautiful!!!! Your kids will treasure it…I treasure the ones my mom made for me. She doesn’t quilt anymore….she doesn’t see well enough. I guess it’s my turn to learn so I will be able to give sweet memories like that to my children.
