I finally got me some! Yay! =D EEENT WRONG T.T

Oh I totally understand...I can't afford an incubator right now either. Hopefully I'll have broodies when my babies get just a little older

I got my Silkies from driving to a BYC's member's house about 2 hours away from me.

And...my b-day is in July too! Probably not getting an incubator though.

I would gladly drive to someone's house but its hard for me to get the kids a baby sitter. I don't have any family that are able to watch them near by. And I don't know any one thats non family members that I would trust to watch them. We tried a while back to take the kids to visit my hubby's family in Kansas. It was a horrible trip to say the least. There's a lot of really swirvy roads around here and no matter what direction your going, you have to go over or around a mountain. The kids cried and vomited the whole way. I felt so bad. But we was already on our way and paid for our hotel room and everything so we tuffed it out. I don't ever want to do that again.

From the USPS site, Express Mail Delivery is available from 45320 to zip code 37311 which is a post office in Cleveland, TN.

Overnight delivery next day by 2 pm guaranteed.

OVernight delivery next day by noon to Chattanooga zip code 37402.

I would call someone in the distribution center post office in Eaton to find out what is going on with this mans post office.

Express Mail Delivery is available everywhere, it is just not guaranteed next day everywhere.

I've spent all morning on the phone with them and all day. His post office and mine. They have a list of places they can not ship too and my zip is listed in those places. They may be able to ship regular ordinary things to mine but not chickens for some reason. I don't know what to do that I haven't already done.

According to a guy in Athens. They just got chicks in this morning.

They recently opened up Chattanooga for lives. I will have this worked out for you in a few minutes.

ETA: He was wrong, see my next post.

What has to happen is they have to come in through Knoxville and be shipped down as the plane that delivers the mail to Chattanooga is not pressurized. Or, on a truck.

So everyone on the board do not ship eggs to people around Chattanooga as they will not hatch....

Can you pick birds up at Niota or Sweetwater? I think they may be serviced by Koxville.

I could try. But I think I am going to just wait till June. My mom has asked me to visit Florida and she is paying. We are going to get an RV ( For us that get sick ) and travel there and on the way back I'm going to stop at Bobbie's place and get some silkies from her. She said she will love to see us and we will get more for our money if we don't have to ship and just pick them up from her.
