i found a crack egg in my incubator i took off the shell on the big

i think that this is just a "kid" who just likes getting you people going, because every post of pax's is something that will get people to talking, and he never comes back to say nothing hardly, i'd give up on this person, thats just my 2 cents

I agree it's someone who just likes to rile things up. I only asked the question to see what they had to say....if anything. I didn't figure I'd get an answer.

kinda crapy that some people here need "REAL" help with there chick issues, there chicks they love and would never hurt !!!!! but we have to play games with people who "REALLY" don't need help or for that matter care!!! How sad !!!!!

This post may not be a total waste of forum space. This brings a question to mind. Personally, I'd never pry open a cracked egg, but say someone out there did thinking it was dead, and now trying to save it and reading everywhere for advice. In that situation, is it possible for someone to patch it with a piece of store bought egg shell, or will it still die from having a torn membrane?

I personally never throw away an egg till several days past hatch day. As long as it doesn't smell and is not totally clear I hang on to it til 4 days after hatch day. Then i candle it before throwing it away. If there is still no movement I then take away a piece of the shell and see if it starts moving. If there is movement then I may try removing a small piece of the shell, because I am a strong believer in helping hatch in the event it is needed. Never would I do this before hatch day. If the shell is cracked drip a little wax on it and leave it be. DO NOT REMOVE THE SHELL JUST TO LOOK! That is just asking for trouble, especially with an egg that is not ready to hatch. Now if the membrane itself is torn that creates the problem of bacteria entering the egg and putting shell over that isn't going to help in my opinion. That membrane drys out very quickly when the shell is removed.

i do not like to judge either but come on this person is playing games it seems if not im more than willing to hear them out but they need to come on thier own feet and explain these things

the crack was the size of a dime and the last time i put wax on it got poisoned and died
