Just got home from playing in a band concert and low and behold I had one chick out, one zipping, and three pips!

Day 21 is tomorrow or at least midnight, but these guys are in a hurry!

Here is my first chick to hatch. It took 2 days after it pipped to zipping. Then after I went to bed, another one hatched overnight that hadn't even pipped before I went to bed.

I took both of these out today and put them with a broody hen that has chicks a week old. She didn't even notice. They both immediately scooted under her wings. Silly hen, she can't count. She's happy to take on a few more silkie chicks.

okay so my babies wern't due until tomorrow, but i have one chick that hatched yesterday! i think that they may have had a day or two of incubation in the coop before i colected the eggs, because it was HOT! how crazy is that! they are my EE and RIR X silkies. as soon as they dry off i will post some pictures!
