I gave my chickens today...........................................

You can give them unlimited greens! but you don't want them to have to much dairy like yogurt,cheese,and cottage cheese.Those things you want to feed in moderation.I don't know about everyone else but I try to limit the amount of chicken JUNK FOOD I give my chickens!!! to much protein in their diet (I have heard) can cause a hen to get egg bound.

I know that your not supposed to give them to much dairy. I gave them a day old loaf of french bread. Is that okay?

Yeah! stuff like that is fine as long as it doesn't take up a lot of their diet.

Do you put the shells in with the feed?

I have it in a separate container.

This is what I have been doing and it works great...........


Make oatmeal

add fruits and veggies

Let cool!

Put portions of the oatmeal in zip lock bags

Freeze

When you want to give the girls some oatmeal in the morning but don't feel like making any
defrost a bag in the frig the night before.

You can warm it up and add a little water to make it not as thick.
