I Goofed on Lock Down Date! Ugh!!!!!!! Hatching Now!!! woo hoo!

from my last batch i had an egg that on about day 9 i didnt have much hope for as it was incredably light like light as air had no weight to it and would not stay on the side i turned it so i figured it had gotten a small hole in it and dried out have had that happen wuite a few times so i left it put it to the side and left it stopped turning it completly on day 15 it hatched!! i was so amazed! it was healthy and lived its now about 12 weeks old

I got them in the brooder early this morning! I was up just about the whole night trying to get it to stabilize.

I am so tired!

Still just the 4 button, and a second coturnix hatched while I was running errands. I see at least 5 more pips.
I do have one that has pipped way low on the egg! So I'm watching that one, a little worried about it!

The buttons follow the coturnix around the brooder wanting to rest under it's wings! It is so funny and cute at the same time!
The coturnix isn't sure what to think, he just wants to sprawl out!

I do have one egg like you describe. I call them wobblers. I'm leaving it though to see how it goes. That's cool yours did!

Well,
after my trip to the feed store today, I'm $100 shorter than I started out!

Food, treats, dishes, and pliers and clips to work on the aviary. I'm broke and tired now! LOL!

Your buttons sound like my recent coturnix babies with their BCM 'mama'...they at least thought the BCM was mama, though the chick looked to be a bit aggravated

It was cute though, all these little day-old coturnix chicks trying to snuggle under a 2-day old Marans baby!
