They poop alot. I didn't notice how much until i took the photo.

I have more pips still.

Hopefully my little chicks decide to hatch and I'll have little ones again too. They are due today but, taking their own sweet time-1 pip.

How cute!!!! I love your home-made brooder. I may have to steal your design if you do not mind. I have been using a box for my chickens. Now I guess I will need to use something with a lid. My button quail should hatch a week from Friday or Saturday!

Such sweet little babies. After they're a day or two old, my DH likes to scoop his hands gently into them and see how many he can pick up at once. I think his record is 12. They're like little fuzzy cockroaches, all squirmy and tickly!

I'm always afraid I'm going to squeeze too hard.

Um... I forgot to tell you about the pooping. They DO poop a lot, and so do the Buttons. After 2 weeks I put the Buttons on 1/4" hardware cloth, and change out the papers once a day. I don't have the luxury of being able to keep them outdoors yet.
