I got a box from alaska - quail

Congrats on the new babies. I have been watching this thread for awhile. Now I want Quail.

I think Ga requires a permit though. I will do some checking up. How much protein do they need? I have not seen gamebird starter at any of the feed stores.

Quail are good. You can buy them frozen in mnay grocery stores. We hunt the wild ones in fall in season.

Coturnix do not need a permit

My dad loves eating them! He hunts the bob whites in Colorado. I really am going to have to try these babies once I get my flock healed up!

MP Im happy to hear you have some babies! Not as many as I wish you would have....I dont know why so many eggs werent fertile...the boys seem to be doing their job. If you ever want more eggs just let me know.
I have my own eggs in the hatcher as we speak and see some rocking!
