I have an LG. Once I got it set up there is little to change because the basement where it is kept maintains a relatively close temp (70-75 f) and humidity. I hatched 3 sets of eggs in it so far with very good hatch results no problems at all. The basement has humidity of 50% so I don't even add any water until after day 18.

The dial is very sensitive to that I agree. I added an old plastic fan knob that makes adjustments much easier than turning the tiny dial. I agree on the above kinda rude post though that once you set it forget it and don't touch again until day 18 to add a little water to up the humidity. Then return at day 20-21 just to look in at what hatched.

I will agree that the dial is a bit touchy, but like LilRalphieRoosmama said, you just turn it till the light goes on or off, depending on which way you want it to go.

Also, a question for everyone with LG's. There are quite a few that talk of having temperature spikes. I have a thermometer that shows the high and low temps for the day, and mine has never went over 103, and that was for a short period of time, which is also supposed to be all right. Do you all have surge protectors on your power source?
A power surge, however small, will increase the temps in the LG bator. Just thought I'd let you know...

It seems like 2 hours but really it is only 5 min max before you check again.

I have a Little Giant Still Air Incubator and I have the same problem. My DH is building me a new one like Miss Prissy's because it is soo frustrating! I totally understand.

Alright, already. We get the point, although mute. In defense of Kelly (who has been raising all types of animals including chickens, since she was a child!), she is one of the most patient people I know. I can't believe that someone can't vent their frustrations with a very incubator on a "FORUM"! Which, btw, is ALL she was doing. I have a still air LG that I love, because that is what I learned on. I recently purchased a circulated LG, that I have to adjust daily to get the HUMIDITY/temp just right. I would rather use the still air.
KELLY would rather use a hova, because that is what she is used to ... even though it is 20 years old! WoW. BFD!
To make and ignorant remark like "Anyone has impatient as you should not be hatching chicks or around any animal. For when they don't do what you want them to or don't please you, you are though with them." is just that, IGNORANT! And a little on the extreme side, don't you think?
It is obvious that you are narcissistic by letting us ALL know that you have "6 LG's place in schools", but also illiterate as I didn't read ANYTHING about "opening the 'bator and touching the eggs"!

For anyone interested in an update, the LG seems to be doing ok, once I finally got the temp in a decent position. I'll know how well it worked when Halloween rolls around!
