She's the sweetest little thing!

I adopted her from a Rescue group that saves dogs from shelters who are about to be put down. I can't imagine why this sweet adorable baby wasn't adopted from the shelter in a heartbeat! As soon as I saw her pic on Craigslist, I just had to have her.

Here she is sitting in my unmowed yard. (Why would we want to mow with all those wildflowers there! Good thing we don't live in a neighborhood with an homeowners association...)

Can anyone give me an opinion on her breed? The shelter originally had her listed as a chow mix, but the rescue lady doubted that. My guess is a Chow/German Shepherd mix. I had a similar dog (unknow mutt, Chow/Shepherd was our guess) and she was the smartest and sweetest dog we've ever had. She died of natural causes at 14. This new baby seems to be just like her!!!

Ticks...yuck! I'll email the rescue lady to see if/when she might have had a dose of Advantage or Frontline or something. There are so many questions I forgot to ask when I was there...was just mesmorized by her adorableness.

Any good names pop into your heads? She was named "Ferny" by the rescue, but we're not sure if we're sticking with that. Hubby wants to change it slightly, to "Fergie", or maybe something else if we can think of something better.

Really hard to guess breed with one pic. Though from that angle I don't see chow in her. I see a herding breed like sheltie or GSD maybe...not sure. Get more pics of her and put them up and we can play "guess the mix". A good side headshot to show shape, thickness and width of skull would be good, as would some pics of her moving to show length of leg, back and tail set.

First offf......Awwwwwww Puppy breath

okay back to breed I dont see any black or purple on her tongue either which is usually a sign of some chow. I had a lab/chow mix and she was the best dog ever.

Congrats she's adorable!
