We got our first two dairy goats last night - Cindi with Numoor Farms was just fantastic with us and the two girls that we have are so sweet. We learned how to milk and watching the kids milk for the first time was awesome!

This is just one of our efforts to cut the grocery bill just a tad since we live in a small town with just one grocery store. Having four kids really adds up; and I have so enjoyed my chickens and my garden that we decided to take the plunge and get kinders. They are first fresheners and they are milking about 2 pounds each time. The kids seem to like the milk and the first milking was gone by noon. We'll hope and see!

So a little bit about my crazy insane ideas - I am sure that my family just shakes their head by now ....

Kinder Goats are Nubians crossed with Pygmy Goats... My mom wanted to get some, but the closest breeder was in Ohio.. I have beautiful Saanens, Saanen Crosses, Boers. They are pigs!

But they are still picky little things.

Yes we love them already!

We have had boers in the past for show projects, and we loved them also. DH said, "We need a goat to clean up those horse pens in the back." He said this after I mentioned I wanted a milk goat ...

They are very sweet, and one of ours has a little more nubian in her according to her papers. Generationally speaking anyway. She is a little bigger than our little black girl. Both are very sweet and follow us around making sure that we are doing our chicken chores and other barn chores properly.

Milking was much easier even this morning and we got 4 1/2 from both. Too cute!

PS - My hands are tired!

hello, we are in search of kinder goats also, but cant seam to find any. we live in new mexico about 5 hr drive from you.
we tried it get in touch with rockin L ranch there in your town but no luck. can you pass me info on numoor farms, are they close to tulie?
a 5 hr drive would be worth it to me.
thanks

I know you guys aren't near KY, but does anybody know where I can find kinder goats near KY? We've been dreaming up a plan for our own milk lately but can't even find anybody around here who has heard of them.

You might want to check with the Kinder Goat Breeders Association. They can point you to Kinder breeders who might be close to you.

Thanks, yeah that was the first place I checked, and there is one a few hours away. I was just hoping somebody might know somebody in central KY...but that might be too much to ask. I don't even really care if they are "real" kinders, in that they have papers or whatever...I'd be happy with somebody who would be willing to breed me an unofficial one, but I guess it'll be worth the drive if it's really the breed we want

I couldn't find any kinder goats in my area, so we got a nubian doe and are gonna cross her to a pygmy buck! She is pregnant right now w/ a nubian baby though.. So once she has that and we have milked a while we are going to! I am so exited!!

I've been thinking about getting a few Kinder goats for a while. I heard they're wonderful milkers for their size, and unlike most smaller goat breeds, their teats are fairly good size making them pretty easy to milk. I'm not positive if this is true though as I have never met a Kinder in real life. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I'm very interested in getting into having my very own milking goat so I would like to know if I should continue my search into the Kinder or switch to a different breed.

was wondering if you ever found any Kinder goats? My husband and I are going to buy a milking goat soon or two! The kinder seem like they would fit nicely into our plan.
