Update****

Dipsy Doo's came in today. So they are only being set 24 hours different....I think that should be okay. I am grateful to all of you for your time and advice.

Now the 3 week wait!!!

I am very excited about naked necks and silkies......

I will post more as they do something....candleing in 7 days right??

just IMO Naked necks not exactly the beauty queens of the chicken world but I guess we all like different things.

What qualities about them do you like ? I'm just curious. I guess I would like them too but I would have to get used to the whole no feathers on the neck thing.

I have always been the lover of odd things......going with the grain is not my cup of tea.....

I figured if I am going to have chickens to lay eggs for eating...then why not have something different and enjoyable to look at while collecting eggs!!!

My husband and I are actually having small arguements over the types of chickens. He is an extreme conservetive man, and he thinks we should get plain big chickens....like white leg horns! His big mistake was marrying a strange cookie like me, and I say the uglier the better!!!

At this point in my "farming venture" it is strictly for my own amusment and personal use. I am sure when and if it changes I will want other chickens, for a purpose.....but for now it is for my friends to come by the house and say....."Only you BoJo, would have these types of chickens!!"

I think that they are beautiful! I hope I hatch some great ones!!

OMG.....so I candled today...I could not stand it!!!!!

The 6 from therealsilkiechick......the best I could tell all looked great!!!
The 8 from Dipsydoo......the best I could tell all looked great!!!

The ones from my own yard......only 4 of 7 looked anything....

But it was sooo cool to see the moving....ans some had veins.....and a few from my yard only had a big bubble in them!!

I am soooooo HAPPY!!!

i got some of my splash silkie/showgirls in the hatcher now pipping!!!

i'll post pics after they r out and fluffed, they should be out when i wake up hopefully.

they did not want any part of getting pics taken,lol. so out of about 20 pics this is the best i got them to hold still for ya to see. they r both splash showgirls. these were born one yesterday and one today just a bit ago.
