I'm so jealous -- I live in Washington state and the "greenies" up here have taken over and banned leg hold and Conibear traps. Do you know that it's even illegal to use those killer mole traps? We're so overrun with coons and possums and moles -- I'm ready to move to a trapping-friendly state. It's ridiculous up here.

ok now go hang it up by the chicken coop in a tree. it will tell every racoon not to come around for a least 4 months.

Crows will also pierce a carcass like that and eat organs. Several years ago I snared a fox. After dispatching it I left it in place since I had another 20 or so snares to check. Caught another 2 fox which I brought back to my truck. Had lunch then went back to get the first fox. As I came around a corner two crows flew away from the fox. They had pierced several holes through his abdominal wall and were pulling out loops of intestine. If you keep your eyes open in the world of nature you can learn something on a daily basis. Still learning at 69!

Dh is jacked. If we were setting more than one trap he would consider getting a pair of setters, but the trap was bought yesterday just for this reason. He will probably set it again tonight along with foothold trap. Couple of foxes around too. However I can see this turning into really trapping, licence, trap route the whole nine.

I have to admit that I thought he was saying he wanted to get an Econo-bear trap. All I could think was "Why does he want a cheap bear trap?" I asked him and he laughed his butt off. "Not an Econo-bear, a conibear trap. It isn't like Econolodge with the sleep walking bear or anything." Funny thing is, is that is exactly what I pictured in my head. Silly me.

Nice, in WA we do have to trap and shoot, or just perch in the back of the truck/out a window, and shoot from there.
