I named mine old fashioned names I like... Lucy AKA Lucille, Emma AKA Emmaline, Maggie AKA Margaret, Amelia, Lily, Abbie AKA Abigail...you get the idea.

Ok, I can definately share the laughs when it comes to naming the chickens, and letting your children do it. My 5 y.o. daughter named one Pip Plop and another one Peekachu (spelling?). My husband name one Re-Run and Butterball. And my two are Molly and Sadie.

I really like Chicken Nugget and might have to steel it for one of my new chicks that will be coming in July.

I did it... I asked my oldest.....

Drum Roll Please....

Rocky as in from Rocky Balboa......

I still can't come up with a name for mine....

Go ahead and please steal the "Chicken Nugget" I won't feel so weird...

We had a hen that was named by my future youngest brother-in-law(10 years old).

He named her Chicken Pox.

I named all of mine old fashioned names but my 5 year old son has always insisted on calling my americana Toast. He said she looks like toast so thats what he calls her.She has that shading of ginger, brown and black. The other day I was talking about the chickens and when I referred to toast by the name I had given her he said who is that and when I pointed her out he said oh you mean Toast. He then said, she can't have a different name because she looks like toast and thats what I named her. So I guess her name is now toast.

My 2 year old named one of our ducks "kicken". He thinks they are chickens. My Lakenvelder Rooster is named General Gau. One of my NH Reds is named Barbara Q. We called the others based on personality. Moose, Roadrunner, etc...

Clearly I have kids
