I Gotta ask How did you ladies and gents decide on your chickens names

Well let me see...we named them on personality and appearance...

the 2 BAs are Molly and Holly (named by the daughter for the female wrestlers)

Ameraucana - Sandy because of her color as a baby

Lt Brahma - Lilly

SLW - Speckles because of her plumage pattern as an adult

NHR - Maggie now constantly called Maggie Moo

Now the 21 coming in July...I have no idea.

I love Chicken Nugget though....you can be my neighbor and yell for it.

Brandy, our mixed hen, was named before I saw her based on my husband's description of her coloring. Her personality towards the other chickens garnered her the aka, Cruella Deville. My newest 3 chickens think she is the Wicked Witch of the West and that the other older flock are the flying monkies from the Wizard of Oz. I call the newbies, Chicken chickens as a group.

Pocket, our silkie Serama roo, was named already when we got him because he was bought originally at a show and carried around in the owner's daughter's pocket for 3 days.

Penny, our silkie Serama hen, was named to compliment her mate's name (Pocket) and because she is colored like a new shiny penny.

Mom named our Blue Ameraucana x silkie, Dahlia. I didn't know she was blue, and she looked like a black Dahlia flower to my mom.

Ruth and Naomi, our two exhibition Buff Orpingtons were 8 mo. and 13 mo. old respectively. Originally I was going to get two 8 mo. olds, but Naomi was broody, and her eyes seemed to say, "Pick me!" We had just had a Sunday School lesson about Ruth and Naomi of the Bible, so it was a kind of "Whither thou goest, I goest" thing.

Rhett and Scarlet are our two Welsummers and were named from "Gone with the Wind." They are the first pure breeds in the flock, and Rhett will also be bred to Brandy when he's old enough.

Little Boy Blue is our young Blue Orpington Banty, and it's the only name that fits. He will be bred to Dahlia who looks just like him once he's old enough! Their personalities are exactly alike, too! They are both very FAST and they both fly very well. They don't like to be picked up, but they both LOVE to be held. Go figure!
