i guess i am the only one who does not care for tattoos

While I find body art incredible works of expression, I, too, do not like to decorate my body in such a manner. Just like people who want to cover their body with art, I have elected to leave my skin alone, and let nature dot my skin with various freckles and what not.

And to be perfectly honest, I don't like needles, especially ones pointed toward me.

,...just more saggy...

As a nurse, I've seen my share of saggy tattoos on elderly men and women - it is NOT pretty! When you see the distortions that age brings to tattoos in some places, makes you wonder what people were thinking by getting them in those places in the first place.

And I have to agree about the piercings - nose piercings make me as crazy as tongue piercings. You try so hard not to stare but you can't stop, your eye is drawn there. And the whole time I am wondering how often people with nose piercings have to clean out their noses so they don't end up with a ton of boogers on those piercings....

got one 18 years ago. Still not a tramp!!!! i prefer the word " arse antlers" lol dont think it will let me post the three letter a word.

I have a small one on my lower back, not a tramp then or now either, lol. I will for sure remember to call them "arse antlers" from here on though.

I dont like tats but like to see the "skin canvas" on those who like them. Some are tastefully done which I enjoyed it but others, covered from head to toe, well, that is a little extreme and when you get older, it gets "blended in" and the once beautiful art will be nothing but a big puddle of splash paint job.

Don't want any myself, but I love some of them! Love to giggle silently at others. People portrait tattoos especially have a tendency to go awry. As a note, some people get tattoos *because* some will form an instant opinion about them. It really helps weed out the shallow/judgemental people in daily interactions. Sometimes I'll do the same thing with band shirts. Similarly, it's part of the reason I usually go to concerts in plain clothes/prep. The chill people treat you the same, and don't have that shocked look when you start moshing. XD

Sleeves...are sexy. Super sexy.

I dont see anything wrong with tattoos or piercings as long as they are not over doing it. I have both. Including the lower back and the tongue piercing you all hate so much lol. All my tattoos have a meaning though and I was raised being told never get one you can not cover up by clothes. So there is nothing on my arms or legs and no one even knows I have any just by looking. The tongue is not as bad as you make it seem. Some people just do not know how to talk and like showing it off. It actually took my mom 2 years to notice mine becuase when I talk you do not know it is there.

I don't have a strong opinion on tattoos, though personally I would not get one. If the artist uses excellent sanitation and procedures, so it's safe, then it's up to the individual's inclination and taste to have one. As long as the designs are not somehow offensive to society, it's a personal issue. I have admired some fantastic "body art" by really talented artists, but wonder how that work will hold up when the "living canvas" begins to sag.

Some cultures require tattoos as a rite of passage, while others forbid them. It's a subjective issue. IMO,

Piercings, though, I dislike because anything that creates a permanent hole can be re-opened and infected by poor hygiene even if the person doing the piercing did a great job; once the "piercee" is on his or her own, things can go wrong. There have been horror stories about piercings gone bad. Again, however, some cultures consider piercing to be part of accepted and expected behavior. But for me, it's self mutilation in a way that can compromise health and wellbeing, so I'm kind of repulsed by it. I don't even like pierced ears even though that is a "natural" part of our culture. Oh well.
