I hate coons, UPDATE #52 got'em!

I am not allowed to fire a weapon where I live although I do have them, and I thought the air rifle would take many shots and actually be more cruel. I dropped the whole cage in so it was fast. I really wish it was not this way but I really could not let it live.

I know I have a black evilness in my soul for saying this, but after hearing your story, I couldn't of cared a frig less how that coon was taken care of - point is, you got him and at least this one cannot come back and kill your birds anymore.

Poor little birds, though. I still get teary when I read this thread.

I thought about drowning the coon in the ducks stream and then draining it so they could see and feel safer but I thought it would scare them more.

btw the 2 injured ones scalpy the headless wonder (thats what I named it) and the hen with the gash are pretty much all better, still look funny though

Oh wow! I want to know how you adjusted your trap to get him. I'm trying to trap (at least) one now. And i know he's big because he moved landscape timbers to get in my pen and mangled my 12 pound feeder, besides what he did to my chickens.

I set a trap that looks a lot like yours, but he got the bait, triggered the trap, and left it empty.

I want to go for him again this weekend.

Any tips would be very helpful.

Thanks.

And Dawn, i love ya, but i, personally, am most definitely out for revenge.

I had to kill my beautiful chicken today, and this raccoon is going to die too, if i have anything to do with it. My chickens are NOT his dinner.

Mz Peep, if the coon is cage smart, try the Golden Malrin method

AHappyChick will have to comment on her results with using it. This is
her show.

Thank you!

Good tip!

I have no problems with that. But that's just me.

A friend was having a coon problem, she had a trap like yours and the coon was forcing the door open and getting out. I let her borrow my trap and he got caught.

This is the squirrel size. The coon/fox size is similar.
