I Hate Dishonest Sellers!!!!!

lots of new folks aroound these days who seem to burn out even faster then they start.

I am shocked he filed a claim - really shady 60.00 isn't really worth the loss of rep..

yes they were live birds and when I got them they were super stressed out and just laying around on thier sides. I kept making them drink some probiotics and electrolyes to make sure they were not dehydrated and would die.
Also $60 is a lot when I have been missing work to take care of my mother who has a mass in her liver the size of a babies head...Which is going to be removed on friday they have to take 1/4 of her liver out. I also am going to miss the day of the surgery and a few after because she is going to be in a crappy hospital that doesn't take care of their patients to well. Her last stay they gave her pain meds 2 hr late she never got a drink unless it came with a meal they do not give out pitchers of ice water like most hospitals and finally her room mate ended up peeing her way to the bathroom because she was 89 and it took them over an hour to come in and take her, then left her peed socks in the sink for 2 days.
So therefore if the seller got refunded the money and kept it I am a little angry I have enough stuff going on in my life and don't need the stress of this on top of it. Even if he would have just sent half I would have been happy.

I will probably get beat up over this one......but sometimes buyers don't see things from a sellers point of view.

We never filed for shipping charges if the birds arrived late the first 2 years we shipped live birds....live or not we were just glad we had the opportunity to share our birds with other people across the US.

Then about 3 months ago I had a guy email me that his birds were 4 hours late.....(they made it next day mind you) and he wanted a refund on his shipping. I thought he was being a little out of line, after all the ducks did make it to him next day and alive. I reluctantly went to the post office and got a refund.

Then I thought.....Ok, we either refund or send replacements if one of our birds don't make it. Although it doesn't happen often, we have lost a few chicks and a few call ducks in shipping....all of those boxes were either delivered on time or a little late.

Sorry this is getting long.....
So is that person entitled to a refund of shipping and free birds if the box was late? How about the box that wasn't late but had a dead duck in it? I have seen boxes of live birds sitting in the back of the post office in full sun waiting to be loaded. That will kill an adult bird in 80* weather.

So what I am saying is I don't think it is wrong of me to start getting refunds on shipping if the box is late to off set some of the money lost with dead birds.....if I guarantee alive birds I don't think I am entitled to issue refunds on shipping if the bird makes it alive and healthy.....

out of 20 boxes shipped I only have 1 maybe 2 that don't make it on time. If a post office employee sets my $200 pair of call ducks in the sun and leaves them for dead I am out $200 ducks plus new shipping charges.

Never mind..wrong thread..

THis is where i am confused. WHo pays the shipping charges? I know when i buy something I(the buyer) pays the shipping to the seller, then they ship out.... OR do you ship out the birds for free? I am confused..i'm sorry, can you explain, please?

let me just say that I do not get refunds at this time for late shipments if the post office delivers late....just if a buyer request one. I am just trying to get some opinions on how to do things.

I guess what I am asking is would you rather be refunded for shipping if your box is late but your birds are alive and healthy or have a seller guarantee live shipment?

I see that some sellers have a clause on their sites that state......
I am not responsible for the birds once I ship them. That means if you buy $100 or more worth of chicks or ducks and they die in transit the seller will not refund or send replacements. You do not have birds or your money.

What I thought about doing is guaranteeing live shipments (which I currently do but loose money or birds when doing this)
and stating that because I guarantee live shipments I will not issue refunds for late shipment if your birds arrive safe and sound.
We are not a hatchery, but a small backyard farm that raises show quality stock and all our "sale" money goes to feed, poultry shows, & housing....we are in the hole each month on our farm account and have to supplement from our living income.

WHat my question is: does the buyer pay the shipping, For you to send the birds to them? OR do YOU pay the shipping out of your OWN pocket? Because...if the buyer is paying you the shipping then ANY refunded shipping you get back from the post office is NOT YOUR money, its the buyers, BECAUSE THEY paid the shipping. thats what i was asking..

Am i making sense? Sorry..

I paid the shipping it was added to the price of the birds. I also was not guaranteed a refund or other birds if they would have died, which the first few days they were questionable. That is why I wanted the refund, because they were not doing well and I was unsure if it would have been a couple days passed the PO would not give it because time had passed. I paid a good deal of money and paid extra for them to be expressed shipped, So I did not want them to die and I be out a little over $300.

The post office said technically the shipper is the one who pays them so he/she gets the money, not the receiver.
