I guess the reason I am stressing about this is because if I raise 20 call ducks i can get 2-3 super show ducks that are worth $150 - $200 each.....even some of the breeder quality ducks are worth $100.

If I ship a pair of show ducks that are worth $400 I would hate for the buyer to get dead ducks and I am out a pair of show ducks....and all that time and effort I put in to raising these ducks and selecting and purchasing my breeders.

What are you losing hun? THe buyer is paying for the shipping?

Ooh, do you mean the birds that you have to replace? Well..thats a differant story...it should be determined case by case...
As in:
If you ship some birds and they arrive dead, by NO fault of your own, then you tell the buyer that you'll recover the shipping costs from the PO, and so shipping will be free. And that they can buy more birds (maybe for a small discount?). BUt again..since you recovered the shipping fees from the PO..you dont charge the buyer again for shipping.
NOW...if the buyer decides to pass on buying more birds...then you mail them the recovered shipping charge money. and its a done deal..

if birds die in shipment and you shiped them correctly and they were healthy, then its NOT your fault.​

I saw your thread. It really touched me alot. I kept thinking of my mother. And how you must be feeling. I'm so sorry.

Shes been in my thoughts.

Hi Brandy! Whoa... I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you get a better/different prognosis tomorrow.
It does make all this other stuff tiny and inconsequential.

Thanks! We will find out she has a menagerie of tests this week and monday I take her to her first oncologist appt.
But like I said my elliots are now doing good running around and being shady. I do feel bad when the birds die and the shipper loses the cost of the birds!! Esp when the birds are expensive!
