I hate our coop color! :(

Yours is stunning, and that is kind of more what I was looking for... Does your color have a name? It must have some green in it? It looks beautiful!

Get a large group of paint swatches to select from, then narrow it down when you are outside where the coop will be. Once you hav two ot three that you think are right, get a sample of each from the store and paint LARGE areas of each of the coop. Pick the one you like, go back to the store for that colour then paint the whole thing.

It sounds like you are going to repaint. I think that's great. Every day you are going to look at that coop, multiple times a day. You can either hate it and feel bad or love it and feel happy. I think a little paint is a cheap price, to look at something you love and feel happy, every day.

I painted my last one periwinkle. I am still working on painting all the trim white. I made dh cut half moon shaped windows in the front on each end, then we tacked some screen over then like the rest of the windows have. I love the color of that coop. My dh painted the little duckhouse a light lime green. Our little leghorn girl is crazy about that color. Soon as he painted it, she was all over that duckhouse looking at it...trying to go into it. She sure is crazy over it. She gets mad when we don't let her in there lol. I never knew chickens have such preferences. DH is such a sucker, she sits on his lap and coos to him all the time so I bet he will build her little group a lime green coop next

If I didn't like it, I'd repaint it, that's a nice coop and you want to love it not hate it!!!

Repaint it the color you will enjoy looking at! If you're worried about color over the current one, take the extra step of getting a tester can... yes, another small expense both money and time, but hey, you have to look at it every day and it can be one small thing that you have control over in this life that can make that little difference first thing in the morning when you go out to feed and water!

It's a nice coop and it deserves a color you'll enjoy as much as the design!

Thank you everyone! DH is convinced too. He hated the color worst than me, but told me I was stuck with it since I picked it out..GRRR.. Anyway, he said I have to tape, and he'll spray it. Whew. I think I should let HIM pick the color this next time

I'll let you know what color I decide with and do some before / after pics too!

If you have plenty of a color that you dont like try adding another color to it. You just might make a color you like and it will help you save money.. p.s. Add a little at a time so that you dont get another color that you dont like...

Go spend an hour at Home Depot collecting those let color cards. After you have a bunch of them, take them on home and see what works. Then send hubby back to get your choice. This way you can blame him as it not being the right color because you weren't there to supervise him and that person mixing it!!
