I really do not like the weather of summer, the bugs well they just need to go and the fleas and ticks I believe are spawn of the devil!!! I do not like the humidity and the heat but my son is in the army in El Paso and his temps are so much worse minus the humidity. I lived in Michigan almost to the top of the lower penisula and we lived very close to Lake Huron on Tawas Bay. I so miss seeing that beautiful lake everyday but--- if I had stayed in Michigan I would never had been lucky enough to have all my fuzzy butts and I count my self so lucky to have them and to have found BYC and make so many wonderful friends that I can talk to each day. You girls and guys always make my day brighter and you give me so much joy knowing that I have a support system for the good and bad times, we all share the sorrow and rejoice together in the good times, share each others joys and pains. You all and my chickies make my life so much better and I thank you all so much for that. I love summer for all the good memories I make with the family cook outs we have, watching my granddaughters run through the sprinkler and squealing with laughter, playing in the wading pool with them , yes I have been known to play in the sprinkler and wading pool with them and laugh as loud as they do. I love all the beautiful birds that come to my feeders and put on a show for me, I love the sounds of those crickets chirping in the quiet stillness of the late eveining. I love those lazy afternoons just sitting in the shade watching the chicks peck and I giggle at the sight of them just attacking that ice cold watermelon. One of the best parts of summer? That ice cold watermelon that chills all the way down, and just watching the grand kids gobble it down with the juice dripping down their sweet chins, you just don't get that in the winter, yep the memories that I make each day I will always hold in my heart and I count each day a great one if I can share a little with my famiily and all of you. Yes summer has it's bad parts but I look forward to it because I know that fall is coming and all it's glory and that alone gives me a smile. Have a good summer everyone!!!!! Trudy

THIS HEAT! They're predicting 95 to 99 degree temps for the next 7 days, possibly 100! From one of our local tv stations:

In the near term, however, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will not bring any relief as the temperature could rise to 100 degrees.

Even in shaded areas, the heat will feel like 105 degrees.

“If we do, by chance, reach 100 degrees, this will be the earliest in any year that we have seen a 100-degree reading at (Raleigh-Durham International Airport). The earliest was June 8 in 1999,” Maze said.

The extreme temperatures could last until June 15 or 16. http://wral.com/news/local/story/2994340/

It's only the beginning of June... isn't even summer yet!

Fall is it

Weather:
talking about temperature and humidity is like politics and religion
there is no way to say the right thing to all the people.

For example; Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and southern Texas to me is a pit of pure hellfire and brimstone. A two year old fell off his bike and got second degree burns from the sidewalk, if you get in the car and forget there is a metal seat buckle you go to the burn ward, no sandals at the pool go directly to the skin graft unit, And who can worry about the humidity when your brains are being addled. lived there for a year gone.

I also lived in Tampa/St.Pete for 6 years, the weather was stifling in summer, could not mow the lawn until 9pm, if you take the boat out during the day and forget your chemotherapy cream you will shed more skins then a python. Always moved back to Wisconsin and it sucks too.

Thinking about getting a cabin on Lake Superior for the summer, but alas my friends have all that money. I'd have to research the Ecuador climate more but what I have looked at so far says it is an ideal place, actually a lot cooler than I thought. I wonder if they like Ugly Americans?

I just stay inside during the hot part of the day(AC of course) and do outdoor things in the evening unless the outdoor activities involve getting wet!
Last summer, my Dad, stepmom, and brothers and I started a metal "barn" at the ranch. We poured concrete on July 30. I don't think I have ever gotten so hot and tired in my entire life.

I hate summer too~! We have not even reached 80 degrees yet and I hope we don't for a while! 60 here now with rain to come...then a warm up to 75. TO HOT FOR ME! lol But compared to most of you I can't complain!
