I hate the sound of my own voice

I have a light airy ultra girly voice, I sound about 14. At 19 I got a cushy job at IBM, the director I worked for wanted "a pleasant voice for answering his calls", the gal I replaced sounded like the ugly stepsister from shrek.

The doc's want to operate on my sinus and I wondered if it would change my voice. I hate it, when I hear it recorded I hate it.

Men are attracted to women with deep voices, cuz they figure she's almost done yelling.

I TOTALLY DETEST HATE AND LOATH MY VOICE! It's really deep and raspy... I've been told several times that it's "hot" but not to me. Every time I hear myself recorded I literally want to cry. Ewww...

Hi! I don't hate my voice, but apparently I don't sound like what I think I sound like...
I recorded a message on my home phone and had an occasion to actually *call home* --- I hung up because I thought I'd dialed a wrong number. I didn't recognize my own voice!

I don't like to hear my voice recorded either. Fortunately it doesn't sound as bad as my mom's though!!!
My sister and I sound almost alike, especially on the phone, we have done the whole "talk to your sister's boyfriend" routine

What gets me the most is when I answer the phone at work "hi thanks for calling xyz this is April ...." and they always go "hi Rachel...." EVERY TIME

Not that I especially like my name April, (I went by Kati in highschool) but I really don't like being mistaken for Rachel because there IS another girl named Rachel who works the phones some nights...

i don't like my singing voice. i like to sing but i'm often told to shut up lol.

i don't think my normal voice is that bad. when i hear it on a message though it seems more high pitched than i think it sounds like in my head lol

Hi! That's neat, you are an April too. My first name is April and I was called April til I was 5-ish. My middle name is Lisa and I decided I liked being called 'Lisa' because April wasn't a 'real' name, it's just the name of the month I was born in. 'Silly stuff' goes on in a childs brain.
I haven't since been called (even by my parents) April since kindergarten, just Lisa.

Hi! April Lisa *add last name* has 'flow'. My fathers name was Edwin and I'm quite lucky I wasn't named 'April Edwina' (my grandmother was pushing for it).
I might have 'grown into' Edwina, but I'd have likely died young.
I think it sounds beautiful now.
