Hang in there, Shawn. The owners & moderators, I'm sure, are fully aware by now of the number of glitches and complaints. I'm sure, as successful as this forum is, that they will have the engineers working OT to get things sorted out. I can't find my BYC page that I struggled to create, but I'm sure it'll pop up soon. Don't bail just yet, Bro'. Oh by the way...... Howdy from over in Bay County!

It's OK..... It's very... boxical. (Is that a work?) I used to scan through the thread titles to see if there was anything I wanted to read, that doesn't work now.

It feels a bit unfriendly...

Like I said before, boxical.

Try clicking "Preferences" below the title of this thread, and check "Compact Thread Titles" to yes. It might make scanning threads a bit easier.

Change is difficult.... for some more than others, but difficult none the less...

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the staffers of BYC. With growth comes change. They have been so helpful, and have given all of us somewhere to vent, beg for advice, show off, or just plain old get our happy on...!!!!! In no time at all, this new site will seem like its always been what we used, and until then I hope people can reserve judgement and negative comments...

I think what sem was saying with the LOVELY use of the font features is that this seems to be what I've seen referred to as YAGE (yet another grand exit). It usually goes like this. The OP says "I don't like the way you're all treating me/new rules/new format/insert other complaint here, so I'm LEAVING this cruel forum" hoping people will chime in with "you're right, we're being treated unfairly, blah blah blah" and try to convince him/her to stay. It's merely melodrama, in my opinion, and not really useful in resolving problems.

My initial thought was, "Ugh! I don't like this!" but as I continued to read posts, respond to posts and look through the website, I'm beginning to really like it. I keep finding features I didn't notice at first. Stick around and keep trying out things. It'll get better.

You know whenever I try something new and don't like it the first time, I make a commitment to try it 3 times. At different times in different ways. Of course that's usually food that I'm dealing with but eh...you could apply it everywhere really.

You're not gonna learn all the bells and whistles right away. We staff members are still learning ourselves. If you can post and reply then you're doing great already!

This is a huge change to this forum and it can be confusing. But many members already had it set in their mind that they would not like this new site (before they even used it). I say, "Give it a try". I try not to judge things until I have actually given them a chance and I encourage others to do the same. BYC is a fantastic forum with an amazing group of members. We as members have to respect Nifty (and staff) decision. I can guarantee that this decision was not one made over night and Nifty (and staff) took a lot of time discussing the pros and cons to this new layout. Obviously there were many, many more pros then cons otherwise we would not have this new layout. Try to give it a chance, everyone. It is only the first day and it takes time to get used to these new things.

The only thing I don't like is the buy/sell format now. Seems like a pain to me. I hope that they change at least that back to the way it was.
