I HATE THIS NEW BYC !!!!

Wow, who would have thought there would be so many rough opinions. As for me? I will have to learn just like I did the first time I got to the site. Yep, I miss the little yellow birds and the dot next to what I posted on. Maybe that will come back. Since I have dial up everything is slow..... lol. I'm sure after a bit I will get familiar with it and all will be just fine. It's too bad people are so quick to judge rather then taking the time to relearn something. Every one is always in a rush.

As for the crew working on the site. Take the harsh comments with a grain of salt. Many are stressed and probably came to this site to chill after a tough day. Now that it is different they stress even more. Eventually everyone will come around, people that learn fast will help others. One day this site will be outdated and people will be upset once again because of a change. It all passes in time.

I'll get it figured out either way. Sure, it's frustrating but anything new is these days. Tough when your comforts are gone or change. Things will settle down. Patience..... people have to learn patience. Try having dial up. Trust me.

The complaints shouldn't be taken with a grain of salt because there are problems. Lag, for one. Clutter and poor formatting for another. It isn't just a new change to get used to, it has issues that need to be addressed.

I've been around long enough on the internet to have seen a thousand different sites change formats. It's a part of life, and typically, what you hate at first either you become used to, or find yourself liking after using it for some time. The big thing is learning how to do all the things you did before.

So far, I've seen a few things I like, and haven't figured out a few more things (like how to easily pull up a list of your previous started threads and posts to other threads). I'm sure I'll enjoy it, because it's less about the site and it's format, and more about the community, which is unmatched.

I can't say I like it all that much myself - it's been very frustrating just trying to make posts on my older home computer! It seems to be working fine here with the faster machines in the city though.

I hope it'll grow on me, because BYC was honestly a great part of my life that I wouldn't want to quit.

Change is never easy, and we put a lot of time and effort into evaluating the many pros and cons of moving to a new system. Please keep in mind:

1. A move was absolutely necessary / unavoidable
2. Change is hard and there is a lot to learn about the new system
3. We're trying to capture all the feedback and suggestions.

Members can help speed up the process of fixing / making things better by:

1. Making sure their questions haven't already been asked and answered
2. Answering other peeps questions if you know the answer
3. Try to keep venting like "I HATE THIS" to a minimum. Telling us specifically what you do and don't like, what you tried to do, what didn't work, what browser you're on, etc. will help us help you. When the staff have 5,000 posts to wade through to get to the real specific problems, it just slows down our ability to resolve problems.

A huge "Thank You!" to all those that:

1. know that we put in 5 months of hard work to choose and integrate the best long-term solution for our community
2. know how much we love this community
3. recognize that change is hard and choose to be patient and learn the new system
4. are being patient with us as we try to find and fix problems

I dunno. The forums are free for me to use. Its a lot of fun to be here. I am finding things okay, it'll just take a while to get used to it. Kind of a nice change though. Something new to look through!

I think a lot of people are complaining without actually trying to learn the new system. Yes, we all get set in our ways and don't like change, but the site looks great (with the exception of the ads on the side) and seems to be working well for me. A few minor things that aren't the way they were, but nothing big.

I am looking forward to seeing the auctions back up and how that is all going to work.
