Its OK. I totally agree especially about the corn.

We took in 6 hens at one year old. They had been fed 80% corn that first year. They would be 3 this spring. Only 2 are still alive. I don't normally lose hens under 5 years old.

I cannot stress enough how important good nutrition is.
