I have a bully!

As long as the coop is big enough for them to function without being cramped during the daylight, they are fine to stay inside. I tend to agree with your husband. They will become used to the coop and think of it as their safe place to sleep. Otherwise you might have to go picking hens out of trees at sundown.

They have REAL food now, and they love it! I did go ahead and get another feeder... They are doing great. I am thinking about turning them loose for a little while. They want out. I am a little nervous though.. What do you think?

I have a dog but I have a shock collar for her.. She's pretty good with my Father in laws chickens

Okay new problem, I have an egg eater. She has eaten 2 eggs today! I thought I felt the whites of and egg when I checked boxes earlier and just now while fixing their new feeders up off the ground.. She jumped up there and got an egg out and ate the shell!! It was another hens egg. What do I do ? I've been told to make chicken soup..?

You can make a nesting box that slants backwards and there be a false wall that comes down to within 2" of the bottom so eggs can roll behind it to safety

I read on another post about putting soap in an egg, I was thinking of trying that... But this is a great idea even if the soap does work!! They won't suspect that I took the eggs.. :) Thank you so much for everything... I apologize for drilling you with questions I am just trying to learn all I can.

Our Flock...
