Its a pet male wood duck named Maggie. I have many questions about this little dude, and I cant find any info on him! Its like I am the ONLY one with a pet wood duck! He is a indoor pet, and wheres a diaper and all that. He makes a ton of noises and strange behavior that I realy want to know about. When my dad comes in the house, Maggie starts screaming and chirps realy fast. Is this because Maggie loves my dad? Maggie also does this when I play with him and talk to him in a weird voice. Also, Maggie does this odd WACHOO! sound, and all his head feathers stick up. He does this when I sorta creep on him slowly. Its like its a warning sound but I don't know. I cant find any of this info on google, so if there is anyone in this world with a indoor pet wood duck, please share some info! Thanks View attachment 1551281 View attachment 1551282

Do you still have him?

What I don't think some people understand is that it is not what is right or wrong, it is what the law states. And people do get reported all the time for posting illegally acquired animals online and those animals can be taken away. Government agencies also watch some forums though I doubt that they watch this one. Then the people could be fined or face jail time. Sometimes something comes up and you make your choices, but don't post it online. People have had their pets ripped away from them and in the best case they are given to a rescue or rehab and maybe used as educational animals. Some can be rehabbed and released. Worse case the animal is euthanized.

As the mom of a mallard that was found in similar circumstances, it sure sounds like behavior I see from my duck. She doesn’t seem to know she’s a duck. I have tried introducing her to my domestic ducks and she has no interest. People berate me for having a single duck (she actually lives in a botanical garden), and I get that, but she was raised by people and is visited daily by people. She is spoiled and happy.

Adorable!!

All my duckies become very loud when I come by or they see me. They do their little head bob greetings too and makes me want to snuggle them even though I know they hate it. Ducks are very social and will call to their people (or those they know give them treats) they are very fond of my boyfriend as he always has snacks for them and will quack loudly when he walks by.
