I have a pip!!! UPDATE WITH PIC!!! ** New updated pics!

Hi folks... I called home at 6 pm to check--- the pip hatched!!! I just got home and we've got a lone wet baby black australorp in the incubator!!
No other pips yet... I'm not sure if we'll get anymore.

How long until he dries I can take him out? Will he be too little to put in with the 4-ish day old chicks, or should it go by itself? I know it's ideal to wait until the hatch is complete-- it might be a couple more days til we know for sure if the others hatch or not... so, I want to know the best thing to do.
Thanks!
Almost forgot--- here's a pic- thru the humid window so it's blurry...

Congrats on the baby!
Leave her in there until she's dry and fluffy. That will give more time for any siblings to make a move on hatching.
If no sibs hatch, I'd take a smaller one of the other chicks to be her buddy, and not put the newbie in with the rowdies for a while.

That's a cool idea... I think I've figured which of the 12 we got on Monday is the youngest- so that might be a good one to be a buddy...
And-- he or she--- this little chickie will always be a pet--- my very first hatched egg

Big thanks to Wegotchickens for suggesting I buddy up my new hatch with one of the chicks I got on Monday (from Howlingwoodsfarm). I chose they youngest of the group- a Barred Rock/White Leghorn ? cross to be buddies with the newly hatched Black Australorp (from Flchicks eggs!)
Heres a couple pics!
We have no more pips in the bator, but I'm going to let it be for a couple days- it's only day 21 today and we'll see what happens in a few days (unless we develop an odor problem beforehand- not happening yet)

Still no more pips... Little brother and Big Brother are still doing well together... I couldn't believe when I had the "perfect shot" to take the pics of them together like I posted.. .They are way too precious!!!!
