I'm so sorry, got caught up in the moment and forgot to update. I ended up with 8 chicks from 12 eggs. The first hatched around 12.30am and woke me it was peeping so loudly. By 6.30 I had 2 more and the rest hatched thoughout the day into the early afternoon. All are doing great.

I have 2 yellow, 1 black and 5 chipmunk looking ones ( will get pics soon )

Now I'm pretending that I'm you, and I have 2 Buff Orps, 1 Australorp, and 5 little easter eggers!

Clearly, my chicks need to arrive soon. I'm losing my mind!

Thank you everyone. My kids and I were really excited. Talk about fighting over watching them hatch. My 4 year old looked at me and said "this is my happiest day ever, I am so happy I am crying" talk about melt my heart.

I got the eggs from Hertzlers feed store here in Powhatan. I just called a day ahead and asked for unwashed eggs. They were $1.75 a dozen the same as they sell them for regularly. As for breeds Hertzlers have buttercups, red sexlinks, black sexlinks, barred rocks and white leghorns all mixed together so the chicks could be any combo of those.

I cried watching mine hatch. My kids were very excited and happy and it was an awesome experience to share but they think I am corny for crying. LOL
