I have a pip!!

LOL...Didn't you know that it is programmed into their disposition to freak you out at hatch time? LOL

Just when you have nearly given up on them, they will hatch. Just go do something that you know would positively annoy the daylights out of you if they decided to hatch at that time, and sure enough, they will be zipping!

I think something is wrong. It's day 24. It's been 32 hours since the first 4 pips. I have about 14 pips now. But nothing else. No movement, no zipping, no further pipping on the ones that started. Shouldn't they be hatching by now? They don't rest for this long do they?

Keep the humidity up around 70% to 75%. Hatch day for Bobs is 23-24 days. Can go as long as day 26.

Just hang in there. I know how it is. The pressure will kill you AND your family. LOL But I am keeping my fingers crossed that they start popping like popcorn soon. :)

Well the little stinkers decided to wait until I went to work today to pop out! I have 20/55 hatched, more pipped. I'm a happy camper! Pretty good ratio for shipped eggs and a first timer.

A note here for future reference: I was VERY surprised at how long it took them from pip to hatch. I've incubated chickens before and they hatched within the day of the pip. These bobwhite went over 48 hours from the time they pipped. I thought they were dead for sure. So anyone who is watching their bobs pip, DON'T TOUCH THEM. They will hatch, they just take forever.
