I have a bit of a problem.

I put eggs down the 30th so today is lockdown, thats easy enough but here is my problem.

On the 10th I had a pair of silkies killed and the hen had laid an egg so I thought I would try to save it, it was fertile and is doing great but it has been in the turner with the other eggs, now that I had to take the turner out to lock the others down on one side then I had to take the silkie out of the turner. My original intention was to leave the turner and just take all the egg turners off except one so it would still be turned automatically but the trays do not come off this particular turner apparently, its all one piece ( Janoel JN8-48 automatic incubator )

How am I supposed to manually turn the egg without opening the incubator?

You should try to get another incubator and use it as a hatcher

ask around may be someone will let you use his/hers

the only issue I see in your plan is the humidity

remember you will increase humidity for lockdown

I once had t he same issue and found a cheap hovabator on craiglist
the one without the fan works perfect as hatcher retains humidity for longer time and keeps the hatching eggs moist inside way better than the one with fan

hope this helps

Yeah this is my first hatch, I wasn't planning to do it but I wanted to save the chick from the hen that was killed.

I called my cousin who lives close by and she said she has an incubator I can borrow till it hatches, I guess I will fire up an incubator for one egg lol
