Hi yall!!! I have a question about how to keep my chickens water from freezing up...It got down to 26 degrees here this morning and I am trying to find a solution on how to keep my chickens water from being frozen each mornin...Any suggestions will be helpful....thanks!!!!!!

We keep a heat lamp just above the waterer. It was 2.5 outside this morning, 27 in the coop and the water was fine.

I just made three of these cookie tin water heaters and they work great. Now if I can get one in every pen, I can quit carrying water.

or buy electric dog bowl (Walmart)

You can also get plastic poultry waterers that have a heating element...

I also also hang a heat lamp above my waterer. I plug it in on any night it is going to be below 30 degrees.
