I have a sick baby

Poor baby!
Hope your chick gets better! Don’t give up!
I have read a lot of articles that said to cull her but i just couldn't. She was "peeping" loudly and seemed to be quite uncomfortable yesterday when i took her out of the box i assumed because of the splay leg. And i do not hear that from her any longer so that was encouragement enough to give her a chance

She made it through the night and seems to have a lot more energy. She is standing on her own, trying to hop around her box that she is separated from the rest of the flock in, and when i pick her up to dunk her cute lil beak in the magic water she either goes in for it herself or fights me. I think she still has a ways to go but she is doin better

I received my first chicks via usps yesterday (04/24/19). There were 17 in total and 16 of them or happy little peepers. There is one though that arrived to us with spraddle leg or splay leg. We got her legs in a homemade brace and she is definitely standing better now. However through the night last night she took a turn for the worse and became very weak. I don't know that she ate or drank anything lastnight. Today however i have spent my day making sure she gets water every 20 min. In this water i have added the tiniest bit of sugar and acv. Also there is some brewers yeast because of some of the symptoms she was having. And offering chicken gruel (starter feed mixed with water until it became a paste). At the last watering and feeding she pooped but it was all liquid and looked black. I know a lot of people would tell me to cull her but i want to give her every chance if there is a remote possability she could pull through. Are there any helpful tips tricks or just plain old chicken wisdom that will get us through this?
I would put some Oxytetracycline in the water. It's a antibiotic and just in case she has something you are unaware of it couldn't hurt...as it is ok for others to drink it as well. Can be purchased at most any feed store. Mine is a powder and stores well. Good to have on hand just in cause.. if they start sneezing or coughing..a mixture of this can save them. I think the mixture I used was 1 tsp per gallon. Might need to check on that.

I was told that giving this to shipped new born chicks can help them recover and adjust well. Can also prevent some issues that may have come with them. Some of those issues can transfer to your own birds. The OXytetracycline stores well in fridge as dry for a long time. Since it is a antibiotic it can be used at first sign of any problem to nip it before it gets bad. I have it on hand all the time but haven't needed it for myself for a couple years now. I did give a dose to my neighbor when I heard he had a situation. It helped fix his Turkey problems when he ordered a batch from the hatchery.

She was looking better this morning now she just seems kind of worn out. I'm gonna have to see if they have that in my area. I have included a pic of my sicky chicky and her flock mates. She is so tiny compared to others the same age
