Hey there,
I have this one chick who came home with a poopy butt. It's now about a week and a half old. I've wiped it's butt a couple times after I got it and it seemed fine otherwise. No different than the rest. This morning I noticed it was just standing off to itself even after i refilled their food and water and everyone made a mad rush for it. The chunk of poop on its back end was kind of large so I scooped it up and removed it. I put it back in the brooder and now it has no balance at all. It tries to take a step and it falls over and rolls and flails around until it's standing again.
If anyone has any insight at all, it would be greatly appreciated. How can I help this little dude/dudette?
Thank in advance!

I soaked it all off, sweet little thing fell asleep in my hand as I was doing it. But it left a naked bum. The fluff was never there since I've had it. It will eat and drink a bit when I put it close to the feeder but not much. Legs look normal. So does his poop. Just has zero balance and it kind of moves it's head around in a weird way when it's standing there.

IIthink your chick is running out of energy (whether he is or isn't sick). Try giving your sick chick some sugar water—just put some warm water on a spoon and sprinkle sugar on top. Get him to drink at least 2 gulps. This will give him some energy and hopefully he'll perk up.

Keep us updated!

Thank you! I'll try that right away!

I had one last night that was standing off to itself and not moving around even when I reached in to pick it up. I dipped her beak and she took some sips of water that I have electrolytes, probiotics, and ACV in. She stayed and kept drinking for a bit then went back under the warmer. She was standing up with the rest when I went to bed. I got up this morning and she was laying flat not moving. The others were walking over her and she didn’t respond. I picked her up and she passed shortly after that :-( it was my first loss. I hope yours perks up and does ok.
