I have a Royal Palm Tom, he is not mine but I volunteered to keep him for the winter for a local homesteading park and I vhave no experience with turkeyss, although I am experienced with chickens. He is being kept with the chickens.
Yesterday I noticed he was making noises like his thumping noise but he is doing multiple thumps, which sounds more like coughing and he will even make a "squeaking" noise. So I am thinking it is a respitatory illness but am not sure what to look for and how to treat it. If it was one of my chickens, I would give them Duramycin-10, would this be appropriate for the Tom? Also, his stools are still firm, no runs, and he doesn't appear lethargic but I did notice his guard-dogging wasn't as persistent today.
I have taken him out of the coop and put him into my nursing box. Anything will help.
